Orkney is renowned for its wildlife. May and June are the best months for migrating birds. Marwick head is a great place to watch the gulls and the RSPB hides at the Loons and Burger Hill are ideal for watching the inland birds. Or just sit in the caravan and wait for ‘our’ owl to glide by.
Situated in the West Mainland, Belmont is close to the World Heritage site at Skara Brae, the burial mound of Maeshowe, the standing stones of the Ring of Brodgar, the Brochs of Birsay and Gurness.

Enjoy a walk across the causeway to the Brough of Birsay. Or along the cliffs at Yesnaby or Marwick Head.
